Matt Sloan of White Bear Lake captured the 195-pound championship in the 30-team Rogers Holiday Matness tournament on Wednesday and Thursday.

Sloan had two first-period pins on Wednesday to reach the semifinals. On Thursday, he defeated Dylan Weber of Becker 7-4 in the semifinals and Adam Wayne of Osseo 6-4 in the finals.

Sloan is 20-0 for the season and ranked No. 4 in Class 3A by The Guillotine. Wayne is ranked No. 5.

Gabriel Kessel at 126, Dov Nathanson at 138, Theron Cartier at 220 and Tate Bosman at 285 each had 1-2 record Wednesday. Five other Bear entrants were 0-2.
