White Bear Lake softball picked up its first win, 9-3 over Mounds View, at home Tuesday. The Bears lost their first three games to East Ridge 14-0, Hill-Murray 6-2 and Stillwater 8-7.

Annikka Koll rapped two singles and a double, knocked in two runs, and scored three. Kari Breuer had a double, two singles, RBI and two runs. Natalie Dumas knocked in three runs with two singles. The Bears totaled 12 hits, and had a five-run second inning.

Emily Price pitched the distance, striking out six, allowing five hits. The Bears made no errors in field. Defensive highlight was right-field Taylor Printon snagging a pop fly and threw out a baserunner trying to advance to third for a double play.

“The girls have been making adjustments over the last few games,” coach Kaity Wightman said, “and did a fantastic job executing and playing a complete game.”
