The White Bear Lake girls placed fourth among 10 teams on Thursday in the Thundering Royal Elk Invitational at Prairie Park in Otsego.

Minnetonka was team champion and East Ridge’s Halle Mestery was individual winner in 18:15.2.

The Bears’ top five were Katelyn Porter in 17th place (21:32), Madelyn Bystrom 19th (21:42), Lily Schneider 32nd (22:12), Ami Nachtsheim 33rd (22:14) and Maia Nebo 38th (22:22) among 80 runners.

Team scoring was Mound-Westonka 76, East Ridge 76 (M-W’s won via sixth-runner tie-breaker), St. Paul Central 87, White Bear Lake 126, Providence Academy 129, Rogers 141, Centennial 148, Zimmerman 173, Heritage Christian 188 and Hill-Murray 275.

The meet was hosted by the Elk River, Rogers and Zimmerman school district.
