Andrew Murphy and Leo Bustos were named co-Most Valuable Players on the Mahtomedi baseball team that finished 14-10. They were joined by Jake Arlandson and Tony Neubeck as all-Metro East Conference picks.

Murphy, senior outfielder, led the Zephyrs with a .446 batting average, 21 RBI’s, 18 runs and nine extra-base hits (all doubles).

Bustos, junior pitcher/outfielder, hit .346 with two homers and 18 RBI. The team’s No.. 1 starter, he pitched 50 innings with 54 strikeouts, a 4-4 record and 2.38 ERA.

Arlandson, senior infielder, hit .384 with two homers, 16 RBIs and 15 runs.

Neubeck, sophomore pitcher/first baseman, had four saves and a 2-1 record in 11 relief appearance, with 23 strikeouts in 17 innings. He hit .232 with 13 runs, and was team rookie of the year.

All-conference honorable mention went to juniors Hayes Bergren, Luke Ricker, and Blake Hogan, and sophomore Johnny DeVore.

DeVore pitched 48.3 innings with 59 strikeouts, a 5-3 record, and 1.74 ERA. Ricker had a 2-2 record in 26.7 innings, striking out 32, and batted .317. One more .300 hitter was senior Alex Mogren at .310.
