ST. CROIX FALLS — The St. Croix River Association (SCRA) is pleased to announce the winners of the St. Croix Watershed Stewardship Award, Every Kid in the Croix Award, and the first-ever Nelson-Mondale Legacy Award. All awards were presented at the 2019 Spring Gathering in May. The awards recognize individuals and organizations that provide outstanding contributions to protection of the St. Croix River now and for future generations.

The St. Croix Watershed Stewardship award recognizes people for their extraordinary contributions of the stewardship of the St. Croix River and its watershed. This year's recipients are the Namekagon River and Peter Grove.

The Every Kid in the Croix celebrates schools committed to making environmental education a priority through the “Rivers Are Alive” K-12 environmental education program. This year's recipients are Taylors Falls Elementary and Pine City Elementary.

The St. Croix River Association Nelson-Mondale Legacy Award honors individuals, organizations, businesses, and communities that have had a similarly extraordinary impact on saving the St. Croix for the enjoyment and appreciation of future generations. This year's recipients are former vice president Walter Mondale and Tia Nelson, daughter of the late Gaylord Nelson, senator from Wisconsin and the founder of Earth Day.
