Robert Hogan had three hits, including his third home run of the sectional, against Champlin Park.

Defending champion Mounds View continues to roll in Section 5AAAA playoffs, tumbling Champlin Park 9-0 on Friday evening at CHS Field.

In the matchup of the last two unbeatens in the tournament, the Mustangs (17-6) took a 7-0 lead after three innings against the Rebels (9-12), who upset top-seeded Totino-Grace-Grace their previous game.

The Mustangs, who previously defeated Park Center 9-0 and Centennial 7-1, advanced to the section championship game Wednesday, 6 p.m., with two chances to win once.

Brett Bateman threw six innings, allowing just three hits and one walk, striking out nine, to get the win.

Robert Hogan blasted his third home run of the sectionals, a solo shot, and finished 3-for-3 with three RBI’s and two runs. He also pitched a scoreless seventh.

Ian Bahn also knocked in three runs, going 2-for-2 with a double and sacrifice fly. Will Rogers had an RBI triple and Jack Hentges had an RBI single.
