The Centennial boys and girls track teams each placed seventh of nine teams in Section 5AAA true-team Tuesday at Cambridge-Isanti, won by the Blaine boys and White Bear Lake girls.

For the boys, Adam Namyst placed third in 300 hurdles (41.00) and fifth in 110 high hurdles (15.57). Surra Birru placed sixth in the 400 dash (52.84) and 11th in long jump (19-5).

Alex Hoglund pole-vaulted 11-0 for seventh place.Thomas Marrah took seventh in the 3200 run (10:12.95). In relays, the Cougars were fourth in the 4x400 (4:22.89), fifth in the 4x200 (1:35.03), sixth in the 4x100 (46.25).

For the girls, Lauren Cina placed third in 300 hurdles (48.40) and 10th in 100 hurdles (17.52). Margaret Henninger took fourth in pole vault (9-6), and Emily Anderson fifth in the 100 dash (13.04).

Also with top-ten finishes were Linaya Tubbe, seventh in high jump (4-8); Lauren Swanson, eighth in 1600 run (5:34.74); and Katelyn Espe, ninth in discus (98-2).

The 800 was a good event for the Cougars as Kathryn Grubisch, Kayla Irlbeck and Jennifer Green ran together and finished 11-12-13 in the 800, all with 2:38 and a fraction.

In relays, the Cougars took fourth in the 4x800 (10:16), fifth in the 4x200 (1:53.81), and sixth in the 4x100 (53.93).
