The Centennial golf season ended at sectionals — except for Carter Korkowski, who shot his best two rounds of the year and qualified for the state tournament individually.

The Cougar boys scored 327 and 329 for a 655 total to place fourth in Section 5AAA behind Maple Grove, Spring Lake Park and Rogers at Bunker Hills, May 27 and 29.

Korkowski, a sophomore, placed ninth with 79-78-157, and will play in the state Class 3A meet at Bunker Hills, June 11-12.

Caden Lick placed 18th with 87-75-162, Brody Pass 27th with 81-86-167 and Sam Emmer 32nd with 80-90-170.

Centennial placed seventh among 14 teams in the Northwest Suburban Conference. Pass made the all-conference team while Lick and Korkowski were honorable mention.

The Cougar girls scored 405 and did not advance to the second day of the sectional May 28 and 30 at The Links at Northfork.

Mallory Schahn advanced to the second round and shot 98-87-135 for 21st place. Emma Partington shot 100, Elisabeth Slaga 102 and Cecilia Vanzyl 105 in the first round.
