Miss Chain of Lakes 2017 crowned

BLAINE — Alexandra Koes of Blaine was crowned Miss Chain of Lakes 2017 on Aug. 20 at Blaine High School. Koes, an aspiring physician assistant, is a senior at the University of Minnesota, and will graduate this December with a bachelor of science degree. She performed a contemporary piano piece and was awarded the Talent Award during the competition. 

Her platform is “A Chain Reaction of Kindness,” and she will be dedicating her year of service to spreading kindness in this community and encouraging others to do the same. Koes will be competing for the title of Miss Minnesota in June. She is available to speak and perform for school and community groups about her platform by contacting misschainoflakes@gmail.com.

The Chain of Lakes Scholarship Organization is a preliminary competition to the Miss Minnesota pageant through the Miss America Organization. The Miss America Organization is known for awarding millions of dollars of scholarships to talented and service-oriented young women.
