Troy A. Collova, age 34 of St. Cloud, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 25 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Troy was born on December 15, 1984 to Steve and Ruthie (Klein) Collova in St. Paul. He was raised in White Bear Lake where he played hockey and graduated from high school. He then moved to Alexandria and attended the police academy. Troy moved to St. Cloud in 2005 and attended St. Cloud State University. He worked during this time and after as a bartender and manager at H.R. Pesty’s in Waite Park and gambling site manager for St. Cloud Youth Hockey Association. He married Nikki (O’Hotto) on September 22, 2018 at Cragun’s on Gull Lake. Troy and Nikki truly were soulmates. In his free time he enjoyed boating, golfing, watching hockey, and spending time with family and friends. Troy had a great smile and quirky sense of humor, he always loved to have a good time. He loved his three cats, Smore, Stitch and Sonic. He was loved by many and he always made an impression when meeting new people. Troy was a risk taker and loved to live life on his own terms. He was a great friend with a huge heart. Troy/Troy-boy/Tron/T-Roy was a fantastic husband, son, son in-law and brother and a loving uncle to his 5 nieces and nephews and will be incredibly missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Nikki Collova of St. Cloud; parents, Steve and Ruthie Collova of White Bear Lake; siblings, Crystal (Ben) Butters of White Bear Lake, and Steven Jr. (Melissa) Collova of White Bear Township; nieces and nephews, Bella, Libby, Max, Vinny and Griffin; parents in-law, Rod and Deanna O’Hotto of Harding; brother in-law, Eric (Mary Kridner) O’Hotto of Bloomington.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Claudette Klein and Guy Anthony Collova.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Eagle Brook Church, 2401 East Buffalo St., White Bear Lake, with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
