Forest Lake girls track team placed in the Section 5AAA true-team meet Wednesday, winning six events and placing second in five events — narrowly missing a state berth.

White Bear Lake, the host team, edged the Rangers 951.5 to 931.5 for first place among nine schools. The Rangers, hoping for a wild-card berth, finished fifth in the “paper meet” in which each section performances off all non-champion teams are tabulated. The top four got wild-card berths.

Several Rangers were among the meet’s individual standouts.

Amelia Hauer won the 800 run (2:28.13) and 1600 run (5:18.01).

Chloe Foster won 100 hurdles (15.89) and took second in high jump (5-0).

Jennifer Valley won long jump (16-9 1/2) and triple jump (35-5).

Sofia Dodge was second in 100 dash (12.89), third in both 200 dash (27.02) and pole vault (11-10), and led off the first-place 4x100 team.

Jennifer Parent was runner-up in both pole vault (11-0) and triple jump (34-9 1/3) while placing sixth in the 800 (2:32.83) and ninth in long jump (16- 1 1/2).

The Rangers won the 4x100 relay with Dodge, Annika Gunderson, Valley and Maddy Dolby in 50.91. White Bear Lake was second in that relay but won the other three. The Rangers took second in the 4x400 (4:11.33) and 4x800 (10:10.13).
