The Forest Lake Police reported the following incidents:
Police arrested a woman for third-degree DWI on the 7700 block of 214th Street N. at 1:37 a.m., March 3. A homeowner inside a residence reported that the heard a loud crash from his driveway. When he went outside to investigate, he found that a 26-year-old Forest Lake woman had struck his parked truck with her own truck. The woman was found to be intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of .25. She was arrested and transported to the police department.
A Forest Lake man, 56, was arrested for fourth-degree DWI on Interstate 35 at 11:20 p.m. March 5. A caller reported a car that was driving erratically, veering into oncoming lanes of traffic and almost sliding into the ditch. The caller followed the vehicle and observed a male exit the car and have difficulty walking. A breath test showed a blood alcohol limit of .12. He was taken into custody and eventually released to his sister.
A Forest Lake man, 29, was arrested for fleeing in a motor vehicle and second-degree DWI on Interstate 35 at 10:25 p.m. March 5. Police pursued his speeding vehicle from the freeway onto Broadway Avenue, where they used speed sticks to deflate the two driver’s side tires and stop the vehicle. The driver took a breath test, with a result of .14. He was booked into the Washington County Jail.
An officer on patrol noticed two people walking behind Willowbrook Church on Centennial Drive SW at 12:22 a.m. March 2. The officer turned around to speak with the parties, but one individual had disappeared and the other was walking on the bike trail. He would not provide any information about who the other party was or where he had gone. He identified himself as 27-year-old Forest Lake man known by police to have active warrants. He was taken into custody and the warrants were confirmed; officers also located a marijuana one-hitter in his jacket pocket. He was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to jail.
Police were sent to investigate a burglar alarm at Hosanna Lutheran Church on Scandia Trail N. at 6:47 a.m. March 4. It was determined that a donation jar sitting outside a preschool room containing approximately $100 in cash, was missing. There were also four microphones missing, valued at $175 each.
Police were called to Westview Apartments on 12th Street SW at 12:40 p.m. March 1 in response to a report of a theft and property damage. Water had been reported leaking in the washing room, and the manager arrived to find that two washers were pulled away from the wall. Water was leaking because water lines were not hooked up. They also found that two washers and a dryer had been dismantled and damaged. The coin slots had been pushed back in with the rods missing, which would have enabled someone to have access to the change after the machines were used. The estimated loss in change was $20, and the damage to the units was estimated at $100.
