The Forest Lake Police Department reported the following incidents:
• An unidentified victim drowned in a pond at an address at Appaloosa Avenue N. at 7:05 p.m. March 27. Police arrived and assisted the victim’s son in removing the victim from the water. Police performed CPR. The victim was transported to Regions Hospital; his spouse, on the scene, reported that the man had gone into the backyard to clean up and may have had a heart-related issue.
• Police responded to a property damage report at a location on the 900 block of North Shore Drive at 8:28 a.m. March 27. The incident appeared to be a hit-and-run crash; a mailbox had been damaged and parts of the car were left behind. The parts were from a red Buick LeSabre. Police searched the area but found no vehicle with consistent damage. They will continue looking for a vehicle matching the description.
• An employee reported that a couple of customers were out of control at a business on the 300 block of South Street SW at 9:08 p.m. March 26. Police arrived and spoke to two employees, who reported that two females attempted to return several items to the service desk without a receipt. One of the suspects stated that she ran a day care that had been damaged in a fire, which is why she had to return the items. When she presented her yellow paper and photo ID, the information did not match and it appeared that the identification had been altered. The staff refused to complete the return, and one the suspects began screaming at and threatening the employees. The suspects left the store. Police were not able to identify them.
• An assault was reported on the 900 block of 12th Street SW at 10:33 p.m. March 22. The victim appeared to be injured and the residence showed signs of a struggle. The victim refused medical treatment, but allowed a medical evaluation. He thought he knew his attacker, but wasn’t completely sure. He refused transportation and refused to pursue charges.
