The White Bear Lake United Methodist Church Chancel Choir will present composer Kim André Arnesen's Magnificat: The Song of Mary. Arnesen says this about the work: "Magnificat is a song of praise about one of the Bible's greatest wonders: The angel Gabriel visiting Mary with the message that she will be the mother of God’s son." Arneson has tried to express what a young, poor woman must have felt upon receiving such a message: wonder, devotion, gratitude, joy, humility, hope, and compassion. Led by Dr. Gerald Gurss, the choir will be joined by organist Karen Flynn, Lux String Quartet and soprano Maria Fogderud. All are welcome! 7pm Thursday, Dec. 9, in the church sanctuary, 1851 Birch Street, White Bear Lake. Masks are recommended inside the church building. Contact office@wblumc.org with questions.
