A baby left to suffocate in a plastic bag in a dump and a 13-year-old girl about to be forced into an arranged marriage are among the more than 200 African children who’ve been rescued by the Brydges Centre.

The growing orphanage and school outside of Nairobi is named after its principal benefactors: Bob and Nancy Brydges. The longtime Birchwood residents spend two months in Kenya most years and they lead the U.S. arm of the faith-based nonprofit’s board along with their adult sons.
