With a 6-2-2 record over their last 10 games, the Centennial boys hockey team is set to begin the Section 5AA tournament on a upbeat note.

ROSEVILLE - The fourth and fifth seeds came together for the most exciting contest in the opening round of Section 5AA play Saturday evening at Roseville Arena.

Nordby will play softball for the NCAA II Moorhead State University, Gieske will play soccer for the NCAA 1 North Dakota State University and Bloom will play soccer or the NCAA 1 Western Illinois University.
A pair of wins this past week kept the Centennial girls basketball crew hot on the heels of Northwest Suburban Conference-leading Osseo.
CIRCLE PINES - Despite an exceptional 28-save performance from goalie Brian Anderson, the Centennial Cougars (9-9-2) boys hockey team fell to the No. 3 ranked Maple Grove Crimson (19-1-2) 3-0 Saturday afternoon.
Anoka put the clamps down on a Northwest Suburban Conference girls hockey crown last week by splitting a pair of games. Centennial also split two games, and finished third in the NSC behind the Tornadoes and Elk River.
