MAPLEWOOD – Inside “The Lettuce Factory,” heads of bibb, oak leaf and mizuna grow on walls, basil and watercress orbit around brightly glowing fluorescent rails and sprouts mature in machines that wouldn’t be out of place in “2001: A Space Odyssey.”

Is it the future of local food production? Garden Fresh Farms owner Dave Roeser thinks so. Roeser believes food is recessionproof, and he’s betting on fresh local produce available during the throes of a cold Minnesota winter to punch the ticket.

This is really great in fact we should feel inspired and can grow herbs in our gardens, you can also grow certain herbs in your indoor garden as well. Many herbs have medicinal properties as well, I recently was reading about kratom effects in a journal.
