Pine Government Center will have to wait a little longer for maintenance work, after tuck pointing bids were rejected as being too high.
At its Aug. 21 meeting at the Public Health Building in Sandstone, Commissioner Mitch Pangerl gave a report from the Facility Committee meeting of Aug. 16. According to Pangerl, the two bids for tuck pointing on the Pine Government Center came in a little more than anticipated. However, said Pangerl, on looking over the original bid he said that it was rather open-ended and could have ended up costing as much or more than the two later bids received. He said that after looking at the entire building, the new bids seemed more realistic. He added that the committee recommends rejecting both bids at this time.
