Pine City’s Stacey Foster was one of the state’s top winners who took home a gold, engraved medallion and the prestigious title, “Educator of the Year,” the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities highest academic honor. Foster is a liberal arts instructor at Pine Technical College and was nominated for the award by her students, faculty peers, and staff members. Robert Musgrove, Ph.D., president of Pine Technical College and Dean of Academic Affairs and Joan Bloemendaal-Gruett, Ed.D. attended the statewide ceremony where Foster was honored.
Foster’s path to her accomplishments has been long and winding. She has been married for 16 years to husband Mike and they have a daughter, Maggie, who is 15 and a son Casey, who is 13. In addition to caring for her family she kept moving forward to fulfill her dream of teaching and holds a B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and a Masters degree (M.F.A.) in creative writing from Hamline University.
