The season is over for the combined St. Francis/North Branch girls’ hockey team after a first-round loss in the Section 7AA playoffs at second-seeded Grand Rapids/Greenway.

The North Branch girls basketball team improved to 14-8 last week with two wins in three contests.

The Braham Bombers, still ranked third in Class AA, grabbed their fifth straight road win and improved their record to 21-1, 13-0 in the Great River Conference, with an 83-28 win over the Pine City Dragons  on Feb. 10.

The Cambridge-Isanti/Mora/Pine City girls’ hockey team lost their final two games of the season.

C-I had a tall challenge in their game with Rogers on Jan. 31.

It was another successful C-I wresting weekend.

The North Branch boys’ basketball team suffered a pair of heavy losses against two of the state’s better teams this week.

The Bluejackets gymnasts had their final dual meet of the season at Becker last week, letting the Bulldogs have a 139.05–138.6 victory after digging themselves into a big hole on the first event by not landing a single good vault. 

The Braham Bombers extended their season winning streak to 17 games, and stretched their home winning streak to 32, with wins over Great River Conference adversaries Onamia and Ogilvie.

 Whitney Olson drove in traffic to score a layup to break the C-I all-time scoring record in the second half of the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets' Feb. 6 game against Monticello. The record was originally held by Jonelle Streed’s 1,799 total points from 1995-99. Olson finished with 26 points to up her career point total to 2,011 points.

Cambridge-Isanti boys’ hockey team split a pair of games last week. On Jan. 26, the Jackets beat Moose-MAML 6-4 and lost to Rogers 5-3 on Jan. 28.

The North Branch wrestling team put in a strong performance in last weekend’s Skip Nalan Invitational in Grand Rapids, placing second to the host team in a 12-team field.

The North Branch Area boys’ hockey team fell victim to two of the most remarkable performances in Minnesota high school hockey history in a Jan. 28 game.

The Cambridge-Isanti wrestling team celebrated “Senior and Parents” night on Jan. 27, with a well-earned win over Monticello 50-22.

The Jackets lit up the gym with soaring success last week, earning two more victories and racking up season-best team scores.

The Braham Bombers boys’ basketball team, ranked #1 in Class AA, extended their winning streak to 15 games, stretched their road winning streak to 11 games and improved their overall season’s record to 15-1 with victories over Great River Conference foes Aitkin and Hinckley-Finlayson.

The North Branch Vikettes dance team has had six meets this season, and are ranking high thus far, placing sixth in the conference recently.

The North Branch boys’ basketball team played only one game last week, but ran into a very strong Fridley team Jan. 17.

The Braham Bombers girls’ basketball team improved its record to 15-1 overall and 8-0 in the Great River Conference with home victories over conference foe Rush City and Class AAAA Minnetonka last week.

The North Branch wrestling team earned a big dual meet win over Robbinsdale Cooper Jan. 19 before taking part in four matches at a weekend tournament.

The North Branch gymnastics team had a meet with Chisago Lakes Jan. 19.

The Cambridge-Isanti girls’ basketball team started slowly Jan. 20,  but once C-I’s scoring machine got rolling on all eight cylinders, Becker couldn’t stop the blue and white and lost 76-51.

The North Branch girls’ basketball team got a well-deserved breather with only one game last week – but that’s the last break it will get before the end of the season.

The Cambridge-Isanti/Mora/Pine City girls’ hockey team started strong on Jan. 10, but it was all North Wright County after that, and C-I lost a 7-1 decision.
