HUGO – Father Jon Shelley is leaving the Parish of St. John the Baptist after almost four years of service to its parishioners.

He has been a familiar face to many area residents, regardless of where they attend church services: Fr. Shelley has been spotted selling snacks in the church parking lot during the weekly Farmer’s Market, greeting area families at the community Lent fish fries in Fortin Hall—and cheerily eating cherry pie with a pair of chopsticks at last year’s Good Neighbor Days pie-eating contest side-by-side with other local dignitaries.
