LUCK—John Denny poured in 35 points as the Luck Cardinals dampened the Frederic Vikings 54-32 on Thursday night.

SIREN—The Siren Dragons hosted the Pine City Dragons on Tuesday night and the Wisconsin crew came out on top with an 81-42 win.

GRANTSBURG—The Burnett Blizzard boys team finished undefeated in Two Rivers Conference play with a 7-0 shutout win over North Branch last Friday.

GRANTSBURG—The Frigid Five 5K Run/Walk is Saturday, Feburary 18 with a start time of 8 a.m. The event will be held as part of Grantsburg’s Mid-Winter Sports Day festivities.

FREDERIC—Seemingly taking their cue from the girls who played before them, the Frederic Vikings came-from-behind to beat the Unity Eagles 55-50 in front of their home crowd Friday night.

LUCK—The Siren Dragon boys basketball team won the West Lakeland Conference title with a 46-41 win over Luck on Tuesday night.

FREDERIC—With poise and confidence, Frederic senior Corissa Schmidt drove around three Unity defenders, let fly with a short runner and the ball fell through the hoop with 3 seconds left in regulation to give the Frederic Vikings a thrilling come-from-behind win over the Unity Eagles 57-56 Friday night.

WEBSTER—Sydney Geisness had 14 points and Caitlyn Olson added 10 to lead the St. Croix Falls Saints to a 52-25 win over the Webster Tigers on Friday night.

CAMERON—The Lakeland Conference Wrestling meet took place last Saturday at Cameron.

HUDSON—The Grantsburg Gymnastics team took sixth place out of eight schools attending the Hudson Invitational Gymnastics meet on Saturday.

SIREN—”The varsity came out strong out of the gates and didn’t let up,” said Blizzard boys coach Grant Nicoll after the Burnett Blizzard defeated Becker/Big Lake 8-2 on Friday.

•Grantsburg over Luck, 52-46.

AMERY—“Good energy for 32 minutes tonight. I thought we played our most complete game in a long time. Now we need to see these things carry over into Friday’s game at Luck, and into all of the games we have coming up to finish the season,” Pirate coach Nick Hallberg said after the Pirates defeated the Amery Warriors 53-47 in non-conference action Tuesday night.

SIREN—“The varsity team did not play their best game, but found a way to win in the closing seconds of the game to stay undefeated in the conference,” said Blizzard coach Grant Nicoll following his team’s 6-5 win over Legacy on Friday night.

FREDERIC—In non conference action on Monday night, the Frederic Vikings defeating the visiting Turtle Lake Lakers 69-34.

SIREN—”I am very proud of the performance by our boys on Friday night against Unity,” exclaimed Siren coach Jon Ruud, following the Dragons 52-32 win.

SIREN—It was a well-played game by two high school teams. It had runs by both teams and either team could have won,” said Siren coach Ryan Karsten following his team’s 45-39 win over the Unity Eagles on Friday night. “I thought we played well at times and then again at times we lost focus and let them back in the game.”

WEBSTER—The Luck Cardinals defeated the Webster Tigers on Friday night by a 40-20 margin.

EAGLE RIVER—At the four team invitational hockey tournament at Eagle River last weekend, the Blizzard girls split two games, winning 4-2 over Northland Pines, but losing 5-2 to Hayward. The girls came in second place in the tournament.

FREDERIC—This game had everything one could ask for in it. There was action from start to finish with the Grantsburg Pirates taking a victory from the Frederic Vikings, 61-59.
